About You and this Role Dow is seeking a Lead Reliability Engineer to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta! In this role, you will support commissioning & start-up activities and project work associated with the planning and construction of the new FS2 Hydrocarbons Facility at the site. Once FS2 is operational, you will be responsible for the reliability efforts for the facility. This role aligned to Dow''s Path2Zero Program which will create the first net-zero emissions plant of its kind in the world and is a key enabler to Dows Decarbonization strategy. You will focus on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically have impacted the plants measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as ''high-risk'' in risk assessments, reliability models and other evaluations. Therefore, you need to have an expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in your own job discipline while also broadening your capabilities. Responsibilities Facilitate development of the business/facility maintenance strategy and solve reliability and availability losses through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its business plan and strategy. Set and Achieve plant PSR targets. Create Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Opportunity List, Critical Equipment List, and identified plant/business needs. Validate ERS implementation and close gaps to improve/sustain reliability improvement. Evaluate effectiveness of individual aspects of the Predictive Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and PPM. Optimizes PPM activities, on an ongoing basis, to support overall productivity improvements. Identify and resolve Top Reliability Opportunities and decrease equipment failure losses in order to meet the site Product Supply Reliability improvement goals for the given year. Develop and maintain, as requested, a model that identifies the unit operations, equipment, process, etc. that identifies the value of opportunities for improvement. Use reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, FMEA) to identify and eliminate negative reliability trends and equipment performance. Participate in plant health study and efforts to implement corrective action to maintain or improve plant health. Develop and implement the Facility Reliability Strategy. Serve as the RCI Team Leader with proven RCI skills, coaching others in RCI facilitation and ensuring strong RCI/CAPA fundamentals are practiced within the unit. Provide front end loading support for plant Turnarounds. Facilitate the Reliability Team and implement of the HRO principles within the unit, building strong partnerships and coaching/teaching as needed. Facilitate the annual maintenance budget setting process. Assist maintenance representatives and project teams to design reliability, availability, and maintainability into new plants and equipment systems using GPM work process discipline. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Currently registered with APEGA (EIT/P. Eng) or willing & able to become registered within 1 year of hire. A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage. A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.
