Job Description

The Opportunity The Consultant, Resident Care & Services (Nursing), reports to the Vice President of Resident Care and Services and is responsible for overseeing the quality of care and services provided to residents. This role ensures compliance with the Long-Term Care Act, Accreditation Standards, and best nursing practices, while fostering a culture of resident safety and well-being. What You Will Do Provide expert guidance and support to facility leadership on the interpretation and application of regulatory requirements, nursing practices, and care programs. Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality resident care, infection control, and nursing practices across all home operations, while evaluating effectiveness and compliance with relevant regulations. Conduct regular assessments of operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with facilities to implement corrective actions and enhance service delivery. Lead the development and delivery of educational programs to ensure ongoing staff training and compliance with the Long-Term Care Act. Assist with investigations into incidents, complaints, and trends, providing recommendations for corrective actions and improvements. Support the preparation for accreditation surveys, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Health regulations, and assist in developing corrective action plans when needed. Represent AgeCare at industry events and contribute to professional development and recruitment efforts. Stay up-to-date with changes in electronic charting systems and contribute to other duties as required. What You Bring Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant management experience in Long-Term Care. Strong background in Geriatric Care, including nursing, medical, restorative, dietary, and environmental aspects. In-depth knowledge of the Long-Term Care Act, Ontario Regulations 79, Nursing Standards, and related legislation. Proficiency in PCC.
