Job SummaryThis position is within the general contracting/construction management division of FCC Construction. The BIM/VDC Lead/Associate Project Manager utilizes Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to manage and coordinate digital models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design consistency, identifying potential issues through clash detection, and facilitating smooth construction by leveraging virtual design and construction (VDC) practices. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time, according to specifications and without exceeding budget.Responsibilities Planning and managing on-site construction activities daily which includes project coordination, scheduling, estimating, material requisitioning and cost control.Achieving project goals within targeted budgets by reviewing financial status of projects and identifying problem areasSupervising and coordinating manpower and subcontractors to effectively handle delivery, labour and schedule, etc.Recognize key issues and act in a timely manner to expedite solutions both internally and externallyRepresent the organization in a professional, positive manner when in contact with clients and consultantsPlanning maintaining status on all work to ensure project schedules are adhered toConducting regular project meetingsEffectively utilize technology to optimize productivity and efficiencyBudgeting, designing proposals and delivering schedules of construction projects throughout Atlantic Canada, which may involve occasional travelDelivering projects safely on time and on budget, with focus on exceptional client satisfactionManaging all aspects of your assigned projectsManage and coordinate BIM standards development and implementationEnforce BIM standards on all related projects, files, and modelsEffectively communicate with other departments, clients, subcontractors, and shop and/or field personnel and focus on solutions that consider the impact of all parties involved.Demonstrate project/product knowledge and understanding of industry requirementsShare knowledge with others in department to assist in promoting a better-trained workforceDeliver projects safely, on time and on budget, with a focus on exceptional client satisfactionSupporting the other departments when necessaryOther duties as assignedTechnical RequirementsExposure to BIM/VDC with the aptitude to quickly learn new innovative technologies Civil or Mechanical engineering background required (Degree or diploma from an accredited institution)Previous commercial/industrial project experienceProficient experience with Microsoft Project, Project cost control software and project management software required.Business RequirementsExceptional time management and organizational skills are requiredDesire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environmentCultural Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of various disciplinesA team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others to improve existing processesAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, FCC offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
