About Project Sunshine: Project Sunshines mission is to bring the healing power of play to children with medical needs through trained and dedicated volunteers. Our programs include in-person play with patients (Here to Play), curated activity kit deliveries (Kits for Play), and live, virtual play sessions (TelePlay). Over 18,000 trained volunteers deliver programs that play and joy to over 250,000 children and families annually. Our unique volunteer engagement model allows community groups, colleges, and corporations to create moments of connection with pediatric patients, caregivers, and families providing child and family-centered, play-based programming. Project Sunshine partners with 500 medical facilities across the U.S. and in three international locations -- Canada, Israel, and Kenya.In Canada, Project Sunshine works with over 40 medical facilities to bring play-based programming to pediatric patients and their families. Thousands of trained volunteers engage children in meaningful, developmentally appropriate activities that foster creativity, social interaction, and emotional well-being. Through partnerships with hospitals and healthcare organizations, Project Sunshine Canada ensures that children facing medical challenges have access to joyful, engaging experiences. Our volunteer-driven model connects community groups, college students, and corporate teams with pediatric patients and caregivers, creating moments of joy and connection.About the Manager Position: The Manager, Project Sunshine Canada is responsible for leading all programming and operations across the country. This includes overseeing relationships with medical facility partners, recruiting and supporting volunteers, managing fundraising efforts, and engaging with the Canadian advisory board. The Manager will also drive program innovation and sustainability while ensuring effective administrative operations.As the sole full-time employee in Canada, this role requires a high degree of independence, initiative, and collaboration. The Manager will work closely with the Canadian board, an external accountant, and the U.S.-based departments to ensure the long-term success of Project Sunshine Canadas programs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about volunteerism, public service, and child development who thrives in a dynamic, self-directed environment.Principal Responsibilities: Program ManagementServe as the main point of contact for all Project Sunshine Canada (PSC) volunteers, coordinating recruitment, training, recognition, and retention in collaboration with US Program Department.Develop and maintain relationships with medical facilities to introduce and expand TelePlay and Here to Play (in-person) programming.Establish and support volunteer chapters (College and Community) to partner with medical facilities in delivering PSC programming.Facilitate and manage ongoing programs, one-time events, and special initiatives, both in-person and virtual.Collaborate with CA Accountant and Associate Director, International Programs to maintain program budgets.Administrative & OperationsOversee administrative aspects of programming, including:Data management: Input program data into Salesforce.Financial processing: Process receipts, volunteer reimbursements, and vendor payments in collaboration with an accountant.Logistics & scheduling: Coordinate volunteers, service providers, and program material shipments.Provide programmatic and administrative support to the Associate Director, International Programs for board-related activities.Maintain general office operations, including ordering supplies, managing the storage unit, and overseeing the PO Box (located in Yorkville).Perform other administrative duties as needed.Collaboration for Grants & Revenue DevelopmentPartner with the U.S.-based Development team to provide program data and insights to support grant applications, reporting, and revenue development.Participate in regular meetings with the U.S. team to discuss program impact, funding opportunities, and areas for growth to strengthen fundraising efforts.Share program success stories, metrics, and case-making materials to enhance donor engagement and corporate partnership cultivation.Support stewardship of funders by contributing to reports and updates that highlight the impact of their contributions in Canada.Marketing & Awareness BuildingWork closely with the U.S. Marketing and Communications team to increase awareness of Project Sunshine Canadas impact through storytelling, testimonials, and visuals.Actively and passively gather stories, participant experiences, and photos from volunteers and medical facility partners.Deliver content regularly to the Associate Director of International Programs to expand PSCs marketing and fundraising efforts.Identify opportunities to increase Project Sunshine Canadas visibility through digital platforms, social media, and outreach initiatives.Corporate Social Responsibility & FundraisingRepresent Project Sunshine Canada in corporate partnership development and expansion of fundraising opportunities.Manage and support corporate social responsibility (CSR) and fundraising events across Canada (remote) and in Toronto (on-site).Assist with invoicing, payment processing, and donor relations.Support fundraising efforts for college chapters through training and promotion of fundraising activities.Work with the Associate Director, International Programs, and Associate Director, Major Gifts to provide program details for grant proposals and assist with donor engagement.QualificationsBachelors degree in nonprofit management, public health, social work, or a related field (masters degree preferred).3+ years of experience in program management, nonprofit operations, or a related area.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and program evaluation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable.Fluency in French (oral and written) is highly desirable.Canadian CitizenshipWhile the job is remote, applicants need to be located in the Greater Toronto Area in order to attend programsPassion for Project Sunshines mission.
