The Senior Manager, Community Engagement will play a pivotal role in ensuring that members experience a seamless and valuable journey with Dietitians of Canada (DC). This leader will oversee and support DCs Networks, strengthen engagement strategies, and ensure meaningful connections between members, volunteers, and the broader dietetic profession.The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a passion for community development, storytelling, and member engagement. They understand the foundational elements of strong membership services and have experience coordinating volunteer-driven initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Director Member Experience and Communications, this individual will work collaboratively with DC leadership to enhance member experiences, strengthen DCs Networks, and contribute to the overall strategic goals of the organization.Main Duties & Responsibilities1. Lead DCs Network GroupsSupport and facilitate the organization of DCs Network groups, ensuring volunteers have the tools and guidance needed to succeed.Act as the key point of contact for Network leaders, providing direction, resources, and training to enhance their effectiveness.Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among Networks to drive engagement and innovation within DCs member communities.2. Enhance the Member ExperienceDevelop and implement strategies to improve the member journey from onboarding to long-term engagement.Oversee the delivery of high-quality member services, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and an overall positive experience with DC.Working with the team and key volunteers to identify opportunities for new or enhanced membership benefits, ensuring offerings align with member needs and industry trends.3. Support Volunteer Engagement and DevelopmentWork closely with volunteers, providing support and recognition to enhance participation and satisfaction.Establish and maintain best practices for volunteer management, ensuring clear communication, expectations, and appreciation efforts.Develop training and leadership development opportunities for Network volunteers and other engaged members.Support additional member initiatives beyond Network activities, including regional projects and other volunteer-led programs.5. Ensure Data-Driven Decision MakingMonitor and analyze membership and engagement trends, using insights to guide strategy and improve the member experience.Collect and incorporate member feedback into engagement strategies, ensuring DC remains responsive to member needs.Work collaboratively with internal teams to support the development of reports, dashboards, and engagement metrics.6. Represent and Uphold the DC BrandServe as a key ambassador for DC, strengthening relationships with members, volunteers, and external partners.Represent DC at relevant events, conferences, and meetings to foster connections and promote the organization (when applicable).Ensure that all member engagement initiatives align with DCs strategic objectives. Qualifications & SkillsAt least five (5) years of experience in project management or roles focused on membership engagement, volunteer management, or community building.Successful completion of a postgraduate degree or diploma in a relevant field or a combination of education and practical experience.Strong background in membership engagement, volunteer management, or community building.Proven ability to develop and execute member-focused strategies that drive retention and satisfaction.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to foster relationships and facilitate collaboration.Experience managing and supporting volunteers in a professional setting.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.Familiarity with membership databases, digital engagement tools, and communication platforms, such as iMIS and Higher Logic.Passion for advancing the dietetic profession and supporting the needs of DC members.Strong AssetsBilingualism in French and English.Registered Dietitian (RD) designation or other relevant professional certifications.Strong understanding of the Canadian health care system (public and/or private).Experience working in or with the dietetic community in Canada.Note: While the above qualifications highlight key strengths, we welcome applicants with a variety of experiences and backgrounds.
