TransEd Valley Line LRT is the first piece of the Valley Line project in Edmonton. Connecting Mill Woods to downtown Edmonton, the Valley Line allows commuters to go from the Southeast of Edmonton to anywhere the LRT stops.Position SummaryThe Contracts Manager will be key in ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations, handling warranties, processing insurance claims, and drafting and reviewing complex contracts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of P3 (Public-Private Partnership) contracts and experience in the transportation infrastructure sector. This role will require strong attention to detail, exceptional writing/drafting skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.Roles and ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and manage complex contracts, including negotiating terms, conditions, and amendments to ensure they align with business objectives and minimize risk.Oversee the management of warranties and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with warranty terms.Review, assess, and process insurance claims, ensuring timely submissions and proper documentation.Track and monitor the status of claims and warranties, working to resolve issues efficiently.Draft various documents, including external correspondence, notices, letters, and reports.Draft and assist with the preparation of other legal documents, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and deadlines.Liaise with internal teams and external parties to communicate contractual matters effectively.Assist in identifying and managing contractual risks associated with the business.Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth contract execution and compliance.Assist the Commercial and Legal Manager with various other tasks, as neededQualificationsBachelors degree in business, law, business administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management.
