If you have a keen eye for trends in the pet industry and want to contribute to our company's success as a Strategic Pricing Specialist, then this position could be the opportunity for you.Reporting to the Director, Merchandising & Category Management, the Strategic Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing pricing strategies to drive profitability, competitiveness, and market share within the retail sector.This role involves data-driven analysis, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and continuous assessment of market trends to enhance pricing structures. The key priorities of this role include improving price perception, maximizing margin performance, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.Your responsibilities will include:Develop and execute pricing strategies that balance profitability and competitive positioning.Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer insights to inform pricing decisions.Monitor and optimize pricing models, ensuring alignment with category objectives and financial goals.Collaborate with merchandising, finance, marketing, and sales teams to implement effective pricing strategies.Utilize advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and pricing tools to support decision-making.Lead promotional pricing strategies, including markdown optimization and discounting approaches.Identify pricing opportunities and risks, proposing solutions to enhance revenue and margin performance.Ensure compliance with pricing policies and regulatory requirements.Track and report on key pricing performance indicators, providing insights to leadership.Manage and oversee the Cost Increases process and required follow ups being a key liaison for Pricing, Category Management and Supply Chain.Presentations to Executive Management with leadership responsibilities required to facilitate special projects as needed for the business.What makes you an ideal candidate:Bachelors degree in business, Economics, Finance, or a related field4-5 years of experience in pricing, category management, or retail analytics.Proven track record in developing and executing pricing strategies in a retail environment.Experience with pricing tools, data analytics, and business intelligence software.Deep understanding of retail pricing methodologies, elasticity, and competitive positioning.Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and pricing optimization models.Knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and category management principles.Familiarity with regulatory compliance and legal considerations in pricing.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools.Detail-oriented with strong project management skills.Strong ability to influence and drive strategic decisions.Why join our pack?Hybrid work opportunityExcellent benefitsGenerous discount programWork with an amazing, passionate team who loves what they do to help pets live their best lifeOpportunities for professional growth and developmentDog-friendly office environment!At Rens Pets, we celebrate diversity and inclusion and are looking for unique and talented individuals to join our team.
