An Airworthiness Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of aircraft. This position involves a range of responsibilities, from design review and analysis to certification support and maintenance program development. Key Responsibilities: Design Review and Analysis: Assess aircraft designs to verify compliance with airworthiness regulations, including structural integrity, systems functionality, and performance characteristics. Certification Support: Work with aviation authorities during the type certification process, presenting technical data and analysis to demonstrate aircraft airworthiness. Modification Assessment: Evaluate proposed aircraft modifications to ensure they do not compromise safety and comply with relevant regulations. Maintenance Program Development: Contribute to the creation and oversight of aircraft maintenance programs, including defining inspection intervals and procedures. Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance: Monitor and implement ADs issued by aviation authorities to address safety concerns. Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation related to airworthiness assessments, including reports, analysis, and justification. Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate with various stakeholders like design engineers, maintenance personnel, and regulatory bodies to ensure airworthiness compliance.
