Job Description

Title: Lead Cloud MQ/ACE Specialist Duration: 6 Months contract Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Tues & Wed) Payrate range: $70-90/hr. INC Interview: There could be more than 1 interview on Webex with a panel of 2 or 3 members. Interview/s timeframe will vary per the panel availabilities Project Name: Candidate will mainly be responsible to handle MQ on Azure Kubernetes Service based container and provide transition to the existing MQ team during the contract. Job Details: Distributed Messaging Technologies is responsible for providing software support for the suite of IBM MQ and IBM Integration Bus (IIB)/App Connect Enterprise(ACE) products globally across all platforms. IBM MQ is a middleware product from IBM that runs on multiple platforms and enables applications to send messages to and receive messages from other applications. ACE/IIB allows business information to flow between disparate applications across multiple hardware and software platforms. IBM MQ and ACE/IIB maintenance and support responsibilities include the evaluation, installation, removal, upgrade, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of the various versions of IBM MQ and IBM ACE across the enterprise. This position will be supporting these products specifically on the cloud based platforms like Microsoft Azure, Open Shift Container Platform along with NonStop or Tandem (HP), Linux & AIX platforms. Daily Responsibilities: Lead in the building and maintenance of Messaging technologies on cloud & distributed platforms such as Microsoft Azure, OpenShift Container Platform, AWS, Linux, AIX, and Tandem (HP). Implement testing, reporting, documentation, and other services, as required Configure, Install and Upgrade of IBM MQ/ACE on Azure Kubernetes Service. Configure, Install and Upgrade of IBM MQ/ACE on distributed systems. Administer the MQ/ACE environments across the servers/pods where the MQ/ACE products exists. Automation of certain manual process that are currently handled. Involvement in various projects, such as Audit and TSS remediation Determining and recommending performance improvements Provide L2/L3 support of Messaging technologies, including support to user community Primary liaison between the vendor (IBM) and client for the Messaging technology products Maintain a very good understanding of supported technology as well as interfacing technology supported by other areas Effectively communicate complex technology subject matter and potential usage possibilities to senior management, peers and application development teams Ensure that instances of Messaging technology software is at an optimal release level and being involved, as required, to coordinate/perform upgrades Participate in OnCall routine when required Must-have Skills: Professional with a minimum of 6 years experience in I.T. support role Post-secondary diploma, degree or equivalent Experience with Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (preferred), OpenShift Container Platform, equivalent cloud products. (Years of experience 4-6) Experience with Linux, AIX, Windows and Tandem.(Years of experience 4-6) Experience with administering/troubleshooting IBM MQ or ACE (Years of experience 4-6) Experience in Scripting preferably Shell. (Years of experience 4-6) Nice-to-have Skills: Experience or understanding of IBM MQ, ACE, middleware technologies, and/or design techniques and tools Certification on Azure Kubernetes Service Ability to script using shell, Python Previous platform experience Knowledge of domains, IP infrastructure, server operating systems, and domain registration standards, as well as an understanding of IT Standards, Methodologies, and audit requirement
