PrideNow is Hiring Licensed Mechanics in Markham, ON (L6G 1B6, Canada)! Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 AM 4 PM Pay Rate: $35 - $37/HR Job Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various vehicles, including light and medium-duty trucks, vans, and specialty service vehicles/equipment. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address mechanical issues per Ministry of Transportation guidelines. Diagnose and resolve engine, transmission, brake, suspension, tire, and electrical system issues. Estimate time and material costs for fleet/vehicle repairs. Initiate service calls for emergency breakdowns as required. Track, document, and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair services. Coordinate with the Fleet Manager to ensure timely servicing of all vehicles. Stay up to date with advancements in vehicle technology and maintenance practices. Ensure compliance with Ontario health & safety standards and company policies. Communicate with the Fleet Manager for material purchases as required. Perform off-site service calls as needed for fleet maintenance and repairs. Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing, pulling, carrying, prolonged standing/walking, and operating tools and equipment. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: A valid 310S license is required or in progress through an existing apprenticeship. Candidates with 5+ years of solid work experience may be considered in lieu of a journeymans license. Certification as an Automotive Service Technician/Truck & Coach or equivalent is an asset. Minimum 2+ years of experience in the heavy truck/equipment industry as a licensed mechanic. Proven experience as an auto mechanic with expertise in both gas and diesel engines. Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various automotive and technical systems. Knowledge of hydraulic systems is an asset. Proficiency with hand and electric tools related to vehicle maintenance. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Valid Ontario G drivers license (clean driving record required). Commercial drivers license is an asset. Must be able to commute to Markham, ON for work.
