The Company:Our Client is an internationally operating family run company with its headquarters in Germany, and has customers worldwide.The Opportunity:We are looking a Technical Sales Manager in the Toronto area that has an excellent understanding of baking, R&D/PD, capital equipment and can sell into the baking sector into manufacturing. You will have an excellent understanding the industry players are in this sector of the food processing industry.The Technical Sales Manager will market, promote, and sell a product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and to meet marketing, financial and corporate growth. Support the Client's sales efforts to close new business opportunities by collaborating with the sales, product and factory teams and with customers to firstly understand the practical requirements of the customers needs, and then define the best application solution to fulfil the customers requirements.Responsibilities and Deliverables:1.Work with the National Sales Manager to formulate realistic sales budgets for product categories.2. Identify current competitive and alternative systems and disseminate information, as necessary.3. Identify markets that could benefit from the use of existing or expanded products in selected areas.4. Lead the development of product justifications for selected applications, including return oninvestment studies and other purchase rationale.5. Work with the National Sales Manager, and marketing teams, to develop appropriate promotional plans and programs.6. Market development activities including, but not limited to, visits to potential customers, visits to Companys international head office and other Company locations to investigate applications, attend trade shows and trade association events as well as visits to allied suppliers/vendors.7. Attend training, as necessary, on product line and new application development and leading the preparation of sales worthy documentation, as needed.8. Operate within annual expense budget and work to meet established individual sales budget.9. Attend internal and external meetings, as required by the National Sales Manager and/or widerbusiness.10. On a long-term basis, help to evolve all product lines into profitable and growing internal business unit.Ideal Qualifications and Competencies:-A completed Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from four (4) year college or university and at least 1-2 years relatedsales experience OR equivalent combination of education & work experience.-A proven track record within a minimum of three (3) years direct sales experience in one or more of the following: (1) Bakery Processing Equipment; (2) Food Industry or (3) Capital Equipment.-Solid organizational, time and project management skills with the ability to establish priorities, set clear deliverables and multi-task under tight timelines and within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Time Utilization:Expected time utilization is 80% traveling (Canada-wide) and making personal sales calls; 20%preparations and follow-up. Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate customer schedules.
