SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced senior level contaminated site assessment and remediation professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation, and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as a Senior Technical Specialist (Competition #25-02-0696). This is a full-time position and can either be based out of one of Summits offices (Calgary, Lloydminster, Grand Prairie, Brooks, Medicine Hat, Alberta or Weyburn, Saskatchewan) or from a home office.What to Expect:The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with both internal and external partners to ensure projects are executed on time. You will demonstrate critical thinking by analyzing complex situations, identifying key issues and developing innovative solutions. This role will act as a change advocate, swiftly adapting to shifting priorities and evolving project requirements. The primary duties include but are not limited to:Provide technical guidance on the management of contaminated sites, largely in the upstream oil and gas sectorProvide senior technical review on regulatory, environmental monitoring, and closure reportsTechnical leader on Environmental Site Assessments, including remediation projectsDevelop Environmental Site Assessment plans, including remedial action plansReview technical reportsMentor junior and intermediate staffSome field responsibilities such as site visits and providing guidance to field personnelParticipation in company and client-specific health and safety programsQualifications:10+ years environmental experience in the upstream oil and gas sectorProfessional sign off on contaminated sites work in Alberta and SaskatchewanThorough understanding of the regulations and processes for contaminated sites management in Alberta and SaskatchewanExperience with Tier 2 guideline development, both pathway exclusion and site-specific guideline adjustmentsSubsoil Salinity Tool experience and certification is considered an assetExperience in human health or ecological risk assessments is considered an assetKnowledge and experience with Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act approvalsStrong communication and technical writing skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft office software, including TeamsThe following are considered an assetExperience in rightsholder consultation (including regulatory consultation)Hydrogeology experienceConsulting experienceExperience with OneStop, particularly with record of site condition submissionsCompany Info:Summit, An Earth Services Company has become the industry leader in the environmental services sector with operations in Canada, the United States, and Australia.
