Job Description

Job Title: Quality Inspector Department: Quality Assurance Reports To: QA Manager, works alongside the QA Engineer Location: Process Products International Ltd, Markham Ontario Job Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming, in-process, and final products meet customer-defined specifications and comply with national and international standards. This role involves conducting inspections, verifying product certifications, and identifying nonconforming materials to maintain the highest quality standards within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Perform dimensional and visual inspections of incoming, in-process, and final products per standard inspection plans. Verify product certifications, including mill test reports, material test reports, certificates of compliance, NDE reports, and heat treatment reports. Identify nonconforming products, generate nonconformance reports, and submit them to the QA Manager for disposition. Ensure inspection and test equipment is properly maintained and used according to procedures. Maintain Inspection gages and equipment calibrations, update calibration status records. Document inspection findings, scan quality records, and maintain accurate traceability of products. Work closely with purchasing, order desk, and warehouse teams to ensure quality control measures are followed. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control within a mechanical component manufacturing environment . With Technical college Diploma (minimum) Certification as a machinist is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of measuring equipment and ability to interpret technical drawings and control plans. Interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using MCOSMOS or PC-DMIS software is an advantage. Familiarity with ferrous & non-ferrous materials, engineering plastics, and basic knowledge of various manufacturing processes (machining, welding, casting, forging, molding, extrusion, etc.). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) . Excellent written and verbal communication skills , report product quality related issues with internal teams. Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with the ability to multitask and work independently. Working Conditions: ~ Work is primarily conducted in a temperature-controlled quality lab (20-21C) .
