Job Description

Purpose of the Job The Power Platform & RPA Developer will play a key role in Equitable Banks strategic digital transformation initiatives. This role is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI, along with SharePoint site maintenance. As an RPA Developer, this position provides technical expertise and contributes to the solution design, development, and implementation of business process automation (BPI) initiatives. Serving as the primary technology point of contact for RPA and Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) initiatives (UIPath), the developer collaborates with business analysts and technology teams (Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, and Information Management) to establish policies, set standards, and design scalable, secure, and efficient automated solutions. A typical day in this role involves understanding business challenges and identifying automation opportunities, defining functional solutions for identified use cases & developing applications and automation workflows while collaborating with other development teams as needed. This position is critical in bridging the gap between business needs and automation capabilities, ensuring the successful adoption of digital solutions across the organization. Main Activities Responsible for developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform components, such as Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Virtual Agents, among others Assess suitability for solutions in Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), Dataverse, Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Implement UI automation, API-based automation, and attended/unattended bots Implement robust exception handling in RPA workflows Follow data security and access control policies while handling sensitive information Optimize bot performance by reducing execution time and improving efficiency Use Orchestrator (for UiPath) or Power Automate monitoring tools to manage and schedule bot execution Document automation workflows, business rules, and SOPs for bot maintenance Explore AI/ML integrations (like Azure AI, OpenAI, or Document Intelligence) to enhance automation capabilities Improve automation by incorporating OCR (Optical Character Recognition), NLP (Natural Language Processing), and intelligent document processing Utilize problem-solving skills to understand client pain points and troubleshoot as challenges arise. Also work directly with clients to support various projects and solutions Applying Power Apps including an in-depth understanding of customisation, configuration, security, integration, extensibility, boundaries and constraints Providing architecture, configuration, administration and functional support to expand capabilities in Microsoft 365 and facilitate process improvement Following best practices for building and packaging Power Platform components Responsible for developing, testing & supporting Power Platform components including SharePoint Sites Development of Azure logic apps and Azure functions to extend the Power Platform capabilities Design end-to-end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing Ability to create custom connectors for Microsoft Power Automate Design and architect solutions that address business requirements and objectives Create design specifications, architectural diagrams, technical documentation Collaborate with business & technology stakeholders to ensure agreement in areas such as coding standards, feasibility, execution, and decisions on hosting solutions which may impact architecture, security, application support, and business continuity Mitigate security implications including external & internal threats, poor design, unsecured data management, and network vulnerabilities Assist in vendor & tool evaluation to determine best fit for the organizations needs by assessing features, capabilities, scalability, and compatibility with existing systems Coordinate and oversee the infrastructure setup for the development, test and production environments Knowledge/Skill Requirements A motivated self-learner who can carry a concept from early planning to full implementation Masters or bachelors degree in computer science or a related technical field Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology, with at least 2 years of experience in RPA-UIPath and at least 2 years of experience in Power Platform Expertise in automation technologies to facilitate, manage and oversee enterprise automation, including the selection of related tools and software Advanced technical understanding of emerging and mature business technologies and the security measures applicable to them, in the areas of data analytics, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Web Content Management Systems (CMS), Workflow and BPM software Advanced knowledge of process assessments and understanding of RPA applications in varying business domains Expertise in the market leading RPA platforms, such as UiPath, Power Platform with extensive experience in UIPath, Microsoft Power Platform MS PowerApps, Automate Flows, SharePoint, Power BI & Microsoft AI Services Experience with end-to-end automation including RPA proof of concepts Experience using data connectors, limits and Dataverse security model (Role Levels, Record ownership) Experience in Business systems analysis and support Experience working with SharePoint Online and MS Teams and utilizing Power Apps and Power Automate to extend SharePoint functionality Experience as a SharePoint site owner and/or Site Collector Administrator Understanding of Power Platform licensing model and limitations Experience with customizing D365 and building Model driven apps is an asset Leveraging PowerShell and Argo workflows to manage SharePoint Online environments Extending the SharePoint online capabilities by developing custom components Experience working on Migrating the data to SharePoint Document libraries Applying best practices to build and package Power Platform components Experience working with MS Purview Compliance portal for Auditing & Policies Strong oral and written communication skills and fluency in English
