Project Opportunity We are seeking a skilled Temporary Works Engineer to support our Means and Methods and Temporary Works disciplines on large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly within the transportation sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing temporary works structures necessary to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project completion. Working alongside the project delivery and construction teams, you will be integral to establishing innovative solutions for staging, stability, and constructability during all phases of the project lifecycle. Develop temporary works sequences and designs, including temporary site establishments, works areas, structures like temporary equipment supports, scaffolding, retaining systems, formwork, and excavation supports, adhering to project requirements, safety codes, and engineering best practices. Work closely with construction and methods teams to determine project-specific temporary works requirements, coordinate timelines, and integrate temporary works into overall project plans. Prepare detailed temporary works design briefs, issuing to consultants, reviewing designer outputs, ensuring designs meet project requirements and applicable codes and standards. Document all design processes, manage technical drawings from consultants or produced internally, and review temporary works plans and modifications as needed. Conduct thorough risk assessments for all temporary works, collaborating with safety and environmental teams to implement control measures and maintain safety standards. Oversee on-site installation and dismantling of temporary works structures, ensuring compliance with design specifications, addressing any field adjustments, and maintaining quality control standards. Regularly liaise with internal stakeholders, including permanent and temporary works design consultants, clients, and contractors, to align on project goals, schedules, and progress. Bachelors degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on temporary works and methods for large infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and equipment related to temporary works. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other design/finite element analysis tools. Familiarity with transportation project requirements and relevant codes (e.g., Previous experience in transportation infrastructure, specifically on large-scale bridge, highway, or tunnel projects. Advanced project management skills and experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams.
