Technical Sales Engineer Energy Storage Systems (BESS)Location: Canada or U.S. - Remote We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer with a strong background in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to join a growing, high-impact team within a fast-paced, clean energy solutions provider. This role blends technical expertise with client-facing communication and project coordination to deliver custom energy storage solutions for a variety of grid-connected and off-grid applications.What You'll Do:Translate client project needs into technical system designs and customized BESS proposalsAct as a technical subject matter expert (SME) throughout the sales cyclePrepare and present budgetary and detailed proposals, including system schematics and layoutsCollaborate closely with internal engineering, product, and commercial teamsRespond to public and private RFPs, leading the technical scopeGuide customers through a structured sales and technical qualification processEngage with developers, EPCs, utilities, and commercial clients to grow the companys footprintRepresent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry eventsSupport development of sales tools and collateral (slides, technical datasheets, ROI analysis, etc.)Provide feedback to engineering and product teams based on market insights and customer needsYou're a Great Fit If You Have:37 years of experience in a technical sales, application engineering, or pre-sales engineering roleDirect exposure to BESS, inverters, PV systems, or grid-tied renewable infrastructureAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, SLDs, and design documentsComfort presenting technical information to customers, partners, and internal stakeholdersFamiliarity with electrical codes and standards such as NEC, UL 9540(a), and NFPA 855Strong organizational and time management skillsWorking knowledge of tools such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, HOMER, CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related fieldEIT or P.Eng. designation is an asset, but not requiredExperience working with EPC contractors or on large infrastructure projectsKnowledge of microgrid design, distributed generation, or hybrid systemsPrior work with energy storage OEMs or integratorsFluency in French or Spanish (bilingual candidates encouraged) but not required.
