We offer over 100 registered welding procedures and a variety of machine shop services, serving clients in the mining, construction, power generation, and locomotive industries.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer located in Guelph, ON. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes, collaborating with quality and operations and customer relations. The role involves continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical support to production teams.Specifically:Work within the engineering department and ensure work orders are being released on time and accuratelySelect best manufacturing processes and compose accurate instructions/routingsConsult with manufacturing, purchasing and scheduling to ensure accuracyWork with operations team to design fixtures and templates to assist / improve manufacturabilityManage and control Engineering drawings, specifications and recordsAssist with development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiativesInvestigate manufacturing quality issues and assist in implementing corrective actionsWork closely with customer / suppliers to clarify requirements and manage deviationsAssist in quoting new parts to support Sales team to secure / maintain partnershipsComplete administrative duties as required to help support the Guelph plantQualificationsStrong understanding of Manufacturing Processes specifically in fabrication and weldingExperience with Machining operations and techniquesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentPost-secondary education in an Engineering or Technologist related field OR equivalent experience working in a similar roleProficiency with 2D/3D CAD software; ability to create, edit and manipulate 2D & 3D models/drawingsMinimum 7 years relevant manufacturing/fabrication experience including familiarity with manufacturing processes (welding, plasma, CNC)Familiar with manufacturing ERP systems is an asset (ie. Infor Visual)Plasma/Laser nesting experience is an asset (ie. pronest)Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements
