Time off: 3 weeks vacation prorated annually & 5 personal days Full-Time Employment: With EI and CPP deductions.Key Responsibilities include:Continuously enhance the companys safety culture through effective communication, new practices, and innovation.Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to carry out hazard analyses and develop operational safety best practices.Consult with, coach, and train managers on various safety issues such as compliance, hazard and risk assessments, and development of procedures and controls.Safety communication champion to create an engaging and positive safety outlook.Acts as a change agent in support of continuous improvement for the companys OHSMS.Maintain OHS Program and ensure it is updated with new legislative updates and regulatory changes..Compile and present monthly safety statistics according to established company KPIs.Communicate to management how safety statistics are being received and effectiveness.Develop and manage a root cause analysis program within the Corrective Action Program for safety incidents and near misses. This includes investigating and assessing incidents, capturing and communicating learnings, and ensuring proper follow-up on action plans with management.Collaborate with Production Leadership and staff to adhere to and improve the health and safety program and policies.Co-chair monthly JOSH committee meetings and safety management meetings, maintaining all necessary records and documentation associated with committees.Investigate concerns and suggestions brought forward by team members, or managers, and liaise with management and/or HR on issues as required.Provide, conduct, and train others on performing risk assessments as needed.Coordinate, track and communicate all Health and Safety training as per legislative and company requirements to all staff.Review and interpret OHS legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.Coordinate JOSH committee member training, team member training, hearing tests, fire alarm testing; Coordinate and deliver safety training courses and testing or arrange for external training.Organize an action plan after audits/inspections conducted by various external bodies, including the companys customers, WorkSafe BC, Fire Dept., etc.Managing first aid program including management of files of first aid treatments, administering database, and maintaining first aid supplies and inventory.Evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards and recommend strategies to control risks in the workplace.Utilize any software programs provided pertaining to the OHSMS.Any other duties which may be assigned to you from time to time by your managerWhat we are looking for*Certification is a key element in obtaining this positionCHSC - Certified Health and Safety Consultant certification -recognizes and promotes excellence in professional occupational health and safety consultingCRST - Certified Registered Safety Technician - Identifies an exceeding knowledge of the industry standardsCRSP - Canadian Registered Safety Professional accreditation - Recognized as an OHS professional with a National level of achievement in OHS4+ years experience in a safety-related position within the manufacturing industryStrong attention to detailExperience in Certificate of Recognition (COR) across all Canadian provincesProficient in documentation, tracking, trending, statistics, reporting, and auditingWhat would take your candidacy to the next level?Experience in legislative and regulatory Health and Safety requirements across all Canadian ProvincesConstruction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certificationExperience working in construction and industrial regulationsKTI Limited is an equal opportunity employer that thrives on a diverse, barrier-free, and inclusive environment welcoming applications from all.
