Northlands College is actively seeking a collaborative and strategic leader to serve as the Vice-President, Academics.ABOUT NORTHLANDS COLLEGENorthlands College provides courses and programs in several campuses across northern Saskatchewan. Each campus offers specific programs and courses, with many programs offered in multiple locations. Northlands College is unique in that it crosses multiple boundaries unlike most other organizations, as we operate in communities whose populations are mostly comprised of people who identify as Mtis, Dene or Cree. We are the only educational institution offering postsecondary education that has its administrative offices located in northern Saskatchewan which helps to create employment and, in turn, aids the economy of this region. At Northlands College we provide high quality education and training programs and services that meet the development and employment needs of Northerners, enhance the social and economic conditions, prepare Northerners to participate in the labour market, and help industry meet its labour force needs. The College fosters unique experiences in delivery methods, learner support, and partnerships. We acknowledge and empower cultural diversity and we develop and implement innovative opportunities while responding to changing environments.THE POSITIONThe Vice-President, Academics is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all academic programming at Northlands College. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice-President, Academics ensures alignment of academic initiatives with the College's strategic vision and operational goals. This position leads academic planning, program development, curriculum enhancement, student learning outcomes, and faculty development. The Vice-President, Academics is a member of the executive leadership team and plays a critical role in institutional governance, resource allocation, and fostering external partnerships.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We recognize that no single candidate will possess all of the following qualifications equally. They will provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing innovative academic programs that are closely aligned with regional workforce needs, industry trends, and community priorities, ensuring both high quality and regulatory compliance. With extensive experience in managing budgets & overseeing performance indicators, this leader is adept at driving continuous improvements in student success, retention, and completion rates while effectively managing the complexities of financial oversight and resource allocation. They will excel in fostering strong relationships with government bodies, Indigenous communities, and external partners, integrating Indigenous perspectives and reconciliation efforts into academic programming. Additionally, the candidate will champion human resource development through strategic recruitment, retention, and faculty performance evaluation initiatives, cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement that upholds equitable practices and aligns with broader institutional goals.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in Education or a related field, Masters level of education will be an advantage.Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in education, including academic program development and administration.For a detailed position profile, please contact COMPENSATIONA competitive compensation package will be provided including an attractive base salary and excellent benefits.
