With a Monday to Friday schedule, you'll find a healthy work-life balance while working at our Nanaimo, BC location.Director of People & CultureThe Director of People and Culture (P&C) serves as a strategic partner to the companys leadership team, overseeing organizational development and providing guidance on all aspects of people and culture programs. In this senior leadership role, they cultivate the coworker team to meet the companys organizational objectives. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing training for leadership and coworkers, managing the performance evaluation system, overseeing compensation structures, and handling disability claims. Reporting to the President, this individual provides strategic oversight of P&C functions, ensuring that processes are designed and executed to support the companys long-term growth initiatives.Responsibilities:Set the strategic direction for P&C systems to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.Align P&C policies and processes to enhance the coworker journey, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, recognition, and succession planning.Anticipate and address emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities affecting P&C policies and programs.Drive organizational development through targeted training and team-building strategies.Support the professional growth and career development of the P&C team.Ensure compliance with legislative, labor, and health and safety regulations.Monitor and address factors impacting organizational health, including morale, engagement, turnover, and productivity.Oversee group benefit programs and serve as the primary contact for benefit brokers.Research and optimize compensation plans to support growth and reinforce a culture of excellence.Provide P&C updates to the Board of Directors as needed.Manage the P&C team budget and collaborate on workforce planning.Develop and analyze P&C KPIs, reporting insights to leadership and the Board.Lead conflict resolution training and oversight.Engage in continuous learning and professional development.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Experience:A degree in a related field such as Business Administration or Human Resources.CPHR designation preferred or MBA in HR field.Minimum of 5-7 years' working experience, a combination of Business and Human Resource Management experience is considered an asset.5 years of Human Resources management experience in a multi-department organization role required.Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic HR policies and processes.Expertise in leadership training, performance management, and compensation programs.Strong background in team development to foster a culture of excellence.Proficiency in managing core HR functions, including talent management, succession planning, and employee relations.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate departments, business partners, and employees.Track record of achieving strategic HR and organizational objectives.Knowledge of personnel legislation, including British Columbia labor laws.Skilled in making data-driven decisions and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership.Salary:The range offered for this position is: $130,000 $160,000 annually, plus bonus.Compensation offered within this range is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skills, qualifications, experience and credentials.This is not a remote position and is located in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, BC.If this position suits your skills and experience, we want to talk to you!
