Chief Executive OfficerThe Bloom GroupLocation: Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaThe Bloom Group invites applications for the appointment of Chief Executive Officer. The Bloom Group responds to the most urgent needs of Vancouvers Downtown Eastside (DTES), Westside and, through its Adult Guardianship Program, elsewhere in British Columbia. They embrace transformative solutions for resolving pressing and complex challenges, filling the gaps in areas that are critical to building a resilient community. Since 1961, The Bloom Group has led many of our communitys most progressive social services to reduce homelessness, provide end-of-life care for individuals with mental health challenges and addictions, ensure women-led families in crisis can stay together as they rebuild their lives, and much more. Their low-barrier services are inclusive and available to all individuals in need, regardless of their circumstances and without conditions. Their broad and positive impact reflects their staffs hard work and dedication. The Bloom Group strives to find solutions to end poverty and homelessness. Their services meet the immediate needs of individuals, while systematically building a foundation that strengthens community sustainability. They put ideas into practice, implementing innovative, yet practical and scalable initiatives that redefine possibilities and catalyze long-lasting change. The Bloom Group collaborates with a wide circle of partners to share expertise and resources and affect broad change that would not be possible in isolation.The Bloom Group comprises two charities, one that holds the organizations real estate assets and the other that manages all operations. The Bloom Group employs over 200 people who walk shoulder to shoulder with over 3,000 of our provinces most vulnerable population. Since 1998, The Bloom Group has offered its Adult Guardianship Program under a trust and deposit business exemption from BCs Financial Institutions Act; these activities are monitored by BC Financial Services Authority.The CEO oversees all affairs related to the administration of services, activities and programming of the Society and report thereon to the Board of Directors and/or Executive of the Board of Directors on a regular basis. The CEO leverages the organizations assets, reputation, and experienced and talented staff in the fulfilment of its vision and mission according to the strategic direction developed with and approved by the Board. The CEO fosters the philosophy of the Bloom Group Community Services Society to offer their service with compassion, love and respect for every human being.The ideal candidate will bring a diverse range of skills and experience to the role of CEO, including but not limited to:Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop a shared vision and strategy among the staff, volunteers, key stakeholders and donors that will provide a strong sense of direction and call to action.A strategic and creative individual who devises strategies that will ensure The Bloom Group fulfills its mission in the short and long term. Demonstrated experience supporting the Board of Directors working collaboratively and effectively with its members to maximize the contributions of each Director and the Board as a whole.Possess experience and appreciation of the working relationship between the CEO and the Board Chair; Experience managing and developing real estate properties in combination with for-profit partners to create legacy income is an asset.Experience working with government agencies, developing strong working relationships and an understanding of how these agencies measure successful partnerships. High level of comfort working with all financial aspects of the organizations activities, including financial statements. Strong social conscience with a passion to serve the underprivileged in our communities.
