In addition, you will work with vendors and external service providers as well as companys physical and virtual servers, networks and security systemsThe core responsibilities:Database Administration and support (70%)Maintain the companys database systems (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL and NoSQL etc.) including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, replication setup and maintenance, monitoring critical events, and documentation. Collaborate in projects on logical models and physical database design including rollout and upgrades. Work with BI tools including MS BI (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) and IBM Cognos. Work with the Data Warehouse. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. Occasionally some scripting and programming may be required to enable and support functions like data loading, data transformation, data cleansing, and data extraction. Support for very complex reports is also expectedProject Execution (20%)Perform tasks under the directions of the Project Manager and/or according to a project plan in a way such that the timeline of the project is observed, and the requirements of the tasks are satisfiedServer administration and troubleshooting (10%)Procure, setup, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and apply remedies for problems identified; work with infrastructure team and vendors to resolve issues; work with hot site vendors on hot site issuesLet's talk about you!A university degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
