Position Summary: A Turnaround Insulation Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing insulation work for industrial turnaround projects. This role ensures that insulation requirements are met safely, efficiently, and within the specified timeframe. The position involves close collaboration with other planners, supervisors, and clients to provide comprehensive insulation solutions tailored to project needs. Minimum Requirements: College degree or at least five years of craft knowledge in industrial insulation is required. 5-7 years of experience in planning and executing insulation work, specifically for industrial turnarounds. Proven experience in estimating, material takeoffs, and scheduling for insulation in high-pressure environments. Familiarity with insulation materials, systems, and installation techniques, particularly in industrial settings. Knowledge of insulation codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., OH&S, CSA standards) is an asset. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience using planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera or similar software is an asset. The ability to problem-solve, organize, and prioritize tasks to deliver results within tight turnaround schedules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Professional and concise communication in written and oral forms. Excels at operating in a fast-paced and diverse environment. Essential Functions: Develop detailed insulation work plans, including material requirements, labor estimates, and schedules, to ensure successful project execution. Conduct site surveys and attend meetings to assess insulation needs and constraints. Collaborate with supervisors, foremen, and other planners to align insulation activities with overall project plans. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams regarding insulation materials, techniques, and safety practices. Ensure all insulation work complies with safety standards, client requirements, and project specifications. Maintain accurate documentation, including insulation drawings, material lists, and progress reports. Identify potential risks or issues and propose effective solutions to mitigate project delays or cost overruns. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of insulation materials. Support quality assurance by ensuring all insulation installations meet or exceed industry and client standards. Competencies: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, especially in high-pressure environments. Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and compliance. Ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Adaptable to changing project demands and capable of delivering high-quality results within tight timeframes.
