The role: Reporting to the Director of Client Relations, the Account Manager is the key customer contact responsible for effectively merging Private Label customer requirements to Elmira Pet Products capabilities, policies, and procedures. This is a customer-facing role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing defined accounts and leading the day-to-day activities to ensure client satisfaction. This position offers a hybrid work environment with a minimum of two days on-site. Execute regular meetings with customer contacts to refresh on business conditions (sales performance, etc.), while identifying opportunities. Attain agreement on action items and timelines. Promptly follow-up internally (EPP) and externally (customer) to reach positive outcomes quickly. Achieve customer consensus of short- and long-range business plans that are consistent with EPP objectives and KPI targets. Use effective communication and time management skills to engage EPP cross-functional teams to achieve objectives. Align on realistic annual budgets for sales targets and spend. Provide customers with sales results vs. objectives (monthly, quarterly, and annually). Inform EPP stakeholders of forecast adjustments from promo activity, planogram changes, lists/delists, store openings/closings and other related activities. Monitor sales vs. forecast. Make concrete recommendations to fill gaps and maximize opportunities. Manage customer spend/deductions to budget. Promptly execute steps for reclamation as required. Coordinate all action items relating to new product launches, product changes, sku rationalization, etc. to maximize total sales and nullify financial liabilities. Overall responsibility for successfully implementing the change to the expectation of all parties. Support the execution of price adjustments including all administrative activities. Maintain a comprehensive Customer Terms & Conditions summary. External (customer): Educate on the merits of EPP and share updates. Internal (EPP teams): Educate on the merits of the customer and share updates. Manage new product launches, as well as customer initiatives, lead both EPP stakeholders and Customer teams through the journey to have successful implementation. Track, measure, and communicate competitive retail activity including pricing, merchandising and new products. Pinpoint threats and measure potential impact to EPP sales targets and/or KPI performance. What youll have: Degree or Diploma in Business or related field. Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships. 3 to 5 years experience in B2B account and/or sales management role. Preferably with experience dealing with major retailers in grocery, mass and pet specialty (i.e. LCL, Walmart, Costco, Pet Valu, PetSmart). Category management and/or private label experience an asset. Analytical and advanced computer skills specifically with MS Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge and understanding of pet food and manufacturing industry an asset. Excellent critical thinking skills. Proactive and highly organized with the ability to effectively multitask and handle several projects and priorities. Must have strong negotiation skills. Must have strong verbal, presentation, and written skills. Collaborator and active listener who easily interacts with others. Strong team player with ambition and work ethic resulting in high productivity. Experience and familiarity with QAD an asset. Retail Link, NIQ, GSI experience is beneficial. Salary Range: Currently under review, salary will be based on the successful candidates skills, qualifications, and experience.
