TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION WRITER-Aurora, ONClient offers a full range of services in the industry of roofing and building envelopes.RESPONSIBILITES:Communicate with owners, property managers, contractors and investigators to ensure that all required information is obtained to prepare the specifications and in a timely manner.Assist with the tendering and inspection process.Conduct site visits & perform core cut prior to writing the specificationsSelect an appropriate roof systemWrite specifications and create CAD drawings for all roof detailCreate all documents pertaining to the project i.e. Contract Documents, Change Orders, etc.Create addendums (if necessary)Develop contractor list for projects (with authorization of the President or Vice President)Prepare tender documentsUpload completed documents to the online systemEnsure that tenders are accessible to ownersMaintain tender result databaseAttend pre-tender meetingsAid in the conversion to Master FormatMaintain specifications & drawings libraryAttend courses on specification writingConduct research to source new products and systemsAddress customer concerns and provide solutions to problemsKeep up to date with changes to the Building CodesQUALIFICATIONS:Working knowledge of Roof CADWorking knowledge of the construction industryWorking knowledge of the Building CodesEngineering degree or equivalentBuilding Science Specialist of Ontario (BSSO) designation or Registered Specification Writer (RSW) designation or working towards either designationMay require travel and overnight stay outside of the usual work areaMay be required to attend company events outside of regular hours of work
