Within a highly unionized environment, the Director provides leadership and expertise in human resource planning, labour & employee relations, talent management, compensation, compliance, equity, diversity, inclusion and culture. The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a people and culture plan and budget aligned with Carefors strategic plan, vision, mission, and values and overseeing the development and implementation of all human resources policies and programs. Providing motivational leadership and direction, the Director builds and fosters a high performing people and culture team, while providing support as a trusted coach and strategic partner to leaders throughout the organization. With support from Carefors VP, People, Strategy, Performance & Partnerships, the directors responsibilities will include:Strategic and Operational Responsibilities: Provides leadership in establishing the strategic objectives, key performance indicators and optimal organizational structure required to lead Carefors people and culture team, policies and programs; ensures alignment with Carefors strategic directions, priorities, mission, vision, and values. Anticipates and identifies emerging issues, trends, challenges, and continuous improvement opportunities impacting the achievement of people and culture strategies and operational priorities; implements appropriate changes to departmental policies and processes. Provides operational guidance in labour relations activities and participates in related grievances, mediations, arbitrations, as required.Promotes and maintains positive relations with Union Representatives and local Leaders.
