This is a six (6) month camp based role, on a rotational schedule with 15 days on, 6 days off.The Electrical Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, assemblies, and the corresponding documentation for evidencing conformance to company, customer, and government requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Perform and document inspections and testing for an electrical and instrumentation construction to assure compliance with contract documents, codes, standards, regulations, clients specifications, and applicable MasTec Canada Quality ManualsCreate or revise the Inspection & Test Plan(s) for the project and obtain client approval as applicableComplete Weekly Quality Reports for onsite Supervision and Quality Lead on the state of compliance of the project and status of quality assurance and control activitiesBuild turnover packages and build system turnover walkdown packagesLead system turnover walks, document punches and confirm completion of systemCreate RFIs and NCRs as requiredComplete red lines in a timely mannerBuild walkdown packages for inspectionsTrain staff and subcontractors on quality requirementsReview codes requirements and ensure compliance through the implementation of the MasTec Canada Quality Management systemInspect and document the receiving condition of materials and equipment for deficienciesInspect and document the site storage conditions to confirm compliance with requirementsReport and follow-up on non-conforming work and conditionsEnsure work conforms to project quality plans and specifications.Actively interface with other onsite trades on regular basisAct as a role model for, and behave in ways that are aligned with, MasTecs Core values of Teamwork, Excellence, Respect, Duty, Integrity and Protect, while encouraging other to do so as wellOther duties as requiredEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Certification in Red Seal Journeyman Electrician5 years of relevant experiencePrevious experience with heat trace inspection is requiredExperience inspecting MV termination and VLF testing is an assetKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and living out MasTec Canadas 6 Core ValuesAbility to lift up to 50 lbsValid Safety Tickets (H2S, First Aid, CSO)Strong Microsoft Office and Bluebeam skillsExperience with Navisworks and various document control management systems is an assetValid Class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract (5 years) would be an assetAbility to prepare, organize, and maintain inspection data, reports and systemsAmbitious, pro-active, high-energy, positive attitude and a team player
