Job Description

The position of CAD/BIM Manager entails working with the team to prepare engineering drawings, generate design documents from sketches and/or marked-up drawings through the use of AutoCAD, REVIT or any other applicable software for projects assigned. CAD/BIM Manager will also schedule and coordinate work, oversee CAD/REVIT staff in regard to timelines and budgets, establish and enforce AutoCAD/REVIT standards based on national standards, coordinate work with outsource vendors, review shop submittals and RFIs.Role and General ResponsibilitiesUpdates system-wide BIM/CAD libraries with appropriate graphic and written assets from current building codes, energy codes, and requirements of regulatory agencies.Develop detailed AutoCAD/REVIT drawings from sketches, notes, and other input materials.Schedule, coordinate and oversee all work for the AutoCAD/BIM department.Anticipate what will be needed for drawing set including general notes, typical details, schedules.Day-to-day oversight of CAD staffOversee project budgets to ensure CAD/BIM staff are staying on track.Effectively communicate with all assigned stakeholders as needed in relation to CAD/BIM staff.Establish and enforce AutoCAD/REVIT standards.Coordinate and oversee work with outside vendors.Participates in occasional team meetings to help resolve project issues such as coordination, scheduling, and technical concerns.Identify and prioritize tasks necessary to complete projects.Perform tasks or delegate tasks to suitable employees so that they are completed at required intervals and according to quality standards.Work with Engineering Manager and Controller as requested to review billing and make changes as needed prior to distribution to clients.Contribute to the documentation, dissemination, and monitoring of standards, best practices and industry advancements.Track and report budgeted time versus time expended.Allocate work to staff based on employee skills and balanced work loads.Qualifications and Education RequirementsRelevant 5+ years of infrastructure CAD BIM experience with a 4-year degreeExperience in AutoCAD & REVITExpertise in industry accepted drafting standardsEffective time management skillsExperience in managing a CAD/REVIT teamPossesses continuous improvement approach.Ability to apply industry best practices and provide insights into opportunities for improvement.Preferred Skills Communication skills both written and oral as role has considerable writing, editing and creative marketing consideration.Strong computer skills required.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks accordingly.Positive attitude and results driven.Strong attention to detail and accuracyDesire to take ownership of tasks assigned.
