Youll have the freedom to shape your role, how you own it, and how you grow with us.We are currently looking for a Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will excel at designing parts in Solidworks, project management, love hands-on troubleshooting, and be zealous in their creative work.As a part of our mechanical design team, you will help guide New Product Introductions from early concept through to manufacturing by designing, prototyping, testing, and collaborating closely with others on the team.Benefits & PerksInnovation-focused cultureGet to see products you've designed on store shelves!A collaborative fast paced environmentThe autonomy to create the products which youre passionate aboutDesired Skills and Experience:Proficient in Solidworks and the development of detailed engineering drawings, designing for manufacturing, and cost optimization.Experience with injection moulded plastic parts, sheet metal parts, machined parts and assemblies, mechanismsManaging projects to ensure deliverables meet the needs of the client within the prescribed budget and schedule.Managing resources required to realize projects, including the supervision of vendors, contractors, and in house teams to coordinate project activities.You enjoyed building with LEGO as a child :).To be successful in this role, you will have:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field2+ years' of industry experienceAbility to provide imaginative and innovative thinkingWhy Join Us?At Waterloo Technical, we value creativity and encourage a culture of innovation.
