Agilus is recruiting for an Electrical Technician in the Oil & Gas Industry in Burnaby, British Columbia.As an Electrical Technician your main job is to keep the electrical systems working smoothly and safely. You'll be working with both low and high voltage systems, fixing and maintaining them. You'll also handle emergency situations to ensure public safety and protect the environment.A typical day:Install, commission, maintain and repair low and high voltage electrical systems.Trouble-shoot electrical circuits, communication networks and control equipment with associated software, schematics, files and drawingsSupport and perform programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces, Programmable Logic Controllers and associated control systemsProvide Electrical support and maintenance to ensure system reliabilityEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while performing dutiesAnalyze, interpret and utilize graphic and other information contained in SCADA displays and P&ID drawingsPerform and document Electrical Maintenance tasks as defined by maintenance tracking software, ensuring system reliability and integritySupport Emergency Response initiatives and programSuccessful candidates will have:Journeyman Electrical Certificate (Red Seal and TQ endorsement) is required.Instrumentation Red Seal endorsement would be an asset.Minimum of 10 years experience working in an industrial environment.Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code requirements.Understanding of Process Control would be an asset.Previous Electrical Experience and training working with Motor Controls, VFDs, High Voltage Equipment and Hazardous. location installations as defined by the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code).Commissioning and Start-Up experience would be an asset.Availability to be on call as part of an on-call rotation.Total rewards:$40.00 - $50.00 hourlyValuable experience providing opportunity for professional development and career advancementAn opportunity to engage with and learn from some of the most talented and experienced people in the businessCompetitive compensationComprehensive benefits programs including flexible benefits, pension and savings plansA place to share a sense of purpose and build relationshipsMeaningful work that makes a differenceAn opportunity within the Canadian energy industry
