Care Aide Companion PT - Senior in Edmonds area Facility (Burnaby) $35.50/hr to start based on experience and qualifications part-time Seeking caring Certified Care Aide in Burnaby Edmonds area to provide companion visits to friendly senior male in facility living with dementia. Your main duties would involve primarily social visits, possibly outdoors in facility gardens, plus fun activities you provide to stimulate and enhance client''s mental health and well-being in addition to what facility is able to minimally offer. Examples include puzzles, watching TV and discussing, small exercises, plus assistance with feeding, and basic conversation to enhance well-being. Light tidying of room, washing clients hands, face after meals and watering plants as needed. Light repositioning in wheelchair or in bed as needed, or request help and attention from facility aids. Make it known what your client needs to ensure his comfort. Due care and attention to mental and physical well being of your client is paramount, and communicating any personal needs (care products, clothing/bedding supplies) to family would be an essential part of your position.
