Job Description

Position Summary The Road Service Technician diagnoses problems, performs repairs and provides preventative maintenance service on material handling equipment at a customers site. Specific Accountabilities - Performs repairs and services on various types of material handling equipment and its components including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters. - Performs preventive maintenance and Lift Device Inspection at prescribed intervals of time and repairs on various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters. - Sound knowledge of utilizing electronic manuals, use of digital voltage meters and applicable diagnostic software for repairing/servicing of material handling equipment. - Sound knowledge of electrical/electronic component diagnosis. - Uses instruction manuals and wiring diagrams to diagnose components, and electrical wiring. - Ensures work performed is verified and the truck returned to the customer clean and operational. - Ensures customer work area is clean and free of debris, oil and grease. - Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Work Experience 3-5 years experience as an auto, forklift, heavy equipment or truck and coach mechanic. A valid drivers license is required. Competencies and Skills: - Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems of battery and Internal Combustion powered material handling equipment - Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles - Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices - Knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements - Effective analytical and problem-solving skills - Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills - Customer service oriented - Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment Working Conditions A Road Service Technician will work in a variety of environments depending on customer facilities such as a warehouse, shop, parking lot etc. Including varying temperatures and subjected to dust, dirt, grease and noise levels ranging from moderate to loud. Frequently works in a crouched position or on back lying on mechanics dolly beneath motor vehicle equipment. Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $30-$45 per hour Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Morning shift Experience: Forklift/Automotive repair: 3 years (preferred) License/Certification: Driving License Work Location: In person
