Calvary Community Church is an alive and growing community in South East Edmonton where children and their families are a significant and foundational part of our ministry. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Childrens Ministry Director to provide leadership, vision, and care for our Childrens Ministry of over 100 children and volunteers. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader committed to guiding children and families in faith, discipleship, and community outreach. We focus on: Offering high quality programs built on Gods Word. Leading our children into a deeper relationship with Christ. A strong foundation of teaching, mentoring, worship and discipleship. Description: The successful applicant will oversee a loyal and dedicated team of volunteers to develop, administer and implement the Calvary Kids program and other childrens events throughout the year. The key aspects of this role include: recruiting, equipping, mentoring, organizing, and planning. Requirements: Participation in the ministry/life of Calvary Community Church A commitment to Jesus Christ Leadership gifts including administration, coordinating, teaching and communication A team player who can work well with staff and volunteers A heart for evangelism and prayer Agreement with the Calvary Community Church Statement of Faith Successful completion of a police security check with vulnerable sector check Drivers license Previous experience in ministering to children and families is an asset Theological studies or other related children/family studies are also an asset Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Vision: Develop and implement a Christ-centered vision and goals for the Childrens Ministry in alignment with the churchs vision, mission and focus for our small group/micro-church network. Volunteer Development: Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers, ensuring they are equipped for ministry through personal meetings, group sessions, and scheduled training. Family Support & Pastoral Care: Provide resources and encouragement for parents through home visits, calls, and follow-ups with families. Assist with Parent-Child Dedications and baptisms. Curriculum & Discipleship: Select and oversee age-appropriate, biblically sound curriculum for childrens programs. Train leaders to effectively deliver lessons and mentor children in their faith journey. Special Events & Outreach: Plan and execute family-oriented events, summer camps, and community outreach activities with a strong spiritual component. Administration & Budgeting: Oversee the ministry budget, maintain secure records of volunteers and children, and track key milestones like baptisms and dedications. Team Collaboration: Work alongside the pastoral team in leadership meetings, church services, and staff devotions. Mentor Childrens Ministry interns and pursue professional development in ministry leadership.
