Looking to hire a casual/pt respite caregiver for my son. Looking for someone with flexibility. Need someone willing to do shifts at our apartment home (near Southgate/whitemud library). Also, someone who''s willing to do shifts at your their own home (must be located Southside or within 15 min drive of our place). Requirements: - someone with a warm friendly and outgoing personality (due to his autism this is important as you will need to initiate conversation/connection) - someone who''s personal life is grounded and stable - someone with experience caring for children and a genuine love and passion for kids - someone with experience or understanding of autism spectrum disorder, or a willingness to learn - someone who is ok with managing occasionally intense behavior/ with an ability to remain calm but firm during melt downs (this is an occasional thing for my son as he''s generally happy and easy going for caregivers, but it can happen, so must be ok with potential for intense outbursts.) - iddeally your house or apartment or condo has a yard or some green space to play outside in - must be physically fit/active with a willingness to accompany my son on walks, play at park etc . This includes a love of being outdoors as he thrives best when he can get outside often (especially in the summer but some in winter too when weather is appropriate) . Looking to hire for 1 to 2 days a week atm , but always random opportunities for there to be more shifts, especially during summer or over holidays . We are very flexible and iddeally you are too. Shifts are typically 3-4 hours long . Though there is the potential for longer shifts during summer and if it''s an evening shift at my place where you''re putting him to bed . Ideally Wednesday or Thursday shifts suit us best ATM. Iddeally some weekend availability too. This is due to the current EA strike which has made my own parenting schedule a bit unpredictable. We do have an indoor dog who is friendly. Pay is 22.67/hr with opportunity for more depending on the shift.
