We strive to provide an inclusive culture by fostering an environment of mutual respect, fairness, and by providing opportunities to contribute and grow.Position DescriptionReporting directly to the Director of Asia Sales, We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Assistant and Logistics Coordinator to join our team, focusing on the Japanese market. The ideal candidate will support the sales team with administrative tasks, ensure the efficient coordination of logistics of the orders, and assist in the management of customer orders, export documents and shipments. This role requires a good understanding of both sales, export documentation and logistics, as well as cultural knowledge of the Japanese market to provide excellent service and ensure smooth operations.ResponsibilitiesWeekly update of shipping schedule for the Japanese customers.Check the details of the shipping schedules and the vessel booking details for each order sent from Germany. Check for typos, incorrect information, discrepancy with the details of Export documents generated against the sales contracts for corrections.For the LC customers, check the integrity of Letter of Credit documents details as bankable and acceptable for us.Update our Friesaus finance team about the wire payment schedule of CAD customers bi-weekly.Check the details of customers' purchase orders against our invoices for integrity. Assist the customers with questions on documentations and relay them to the logistics/documentation staff in Germany, working in liaison with both.Check and oversee any additional documentation required by the customers, including the ones required by the government's import regulations for the Japanese customers operations located in SEA.Communicate our German office for the application of credit notes against specific invoice payments by customers.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or related field (or equivalent experience) desirable.The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in sales support or logistics coordination, preferably in a global or international business environment.Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.Knowledge of logistics and shipping processes, including familiarity with customs regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM systems, and logistics software.Experience generating and processing export documentation.Knowledge of Letter of Credit proofing would be advantageous.Strong understanding of the Japanese market and culture.Proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken) at a business level is essential.Salary & BenefitsThe salary for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 . Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Our group benefits package, which has no waiting period, includes extended health and dental benefits, in addition to a Health Care Spending Account and a fitness allowance.RRSP - We provide a competitive RRSP contribution plan, with base contributions made by Mercer which can be supplemented with personal contributions matched by the company up to a certain %.
