Job Description

General Summary:Engineering role with the responsibility of designing, configuring and implementing Advanced Process Control (APC) solutions at customer locations. Responsibility includes participating in APC projects and services. The role includes ensuring that APC solutions are delivered to client sites following the BTG standards of excellence to ensure consistent and efficient project delivery. Provides expert consulting services to optimize customers process performance. Provides expert training on BTG products and applications for customers engineers and operators. The candidate is expected to possess the ability to analyze process data to assess control performance in order to troubleshoot process and control problems.Responsibilities:Participate in APC projects and service at customer sites Utilize BTGs MACS and PARCview software to design, configure, tune, commission, and maintain advanced process control solutions. Monitoring of Installed applications to help maximize mill performance. Help coordinate activities with customer staff and provide APC training. Analyze process and control data using BTGs software and other tools. Contribute to continuous improvement of best practices for the MACS group. Deliver monthly reports to summarize application performance and ongoing service activities. Generate documentation and training material that clearly describes the modifications made to APC applications and the functionality of the applications. Supports team with monitoring and configuring tools to monitor existing applications. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and respect. Employees will be held accountable for knowledge and effective application of these principles.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Model predictive control and real time optimization experience.Process performance analysis, troubleshooting and optimization.Distributed control systems and plant information systems.Required Education/Experience:B.S. Degree in Chemical, Pulp and Paper, or Bioresource Engineering.
