As part of the global Worley team, we enjoy shared resources and opportunities with more than 20 Canadian locations and 40 countries.Worley Canada Construction is seeking an Experienced Project Procurement Manager to work in our growing Procurement group in our Edmonton, AB Head Office location. Candidates must live in the Edmonton area.Role to be responsible for implementing Procurement strategies and the execution of those strategies on projects. This may include a team of buyers, expeditors, and field procurement/material staff. Ability to support development of any required bid proposals related to Procurement activities: make sure all area projects are compliant with Corporate Procurement Policies, project execution directives, systems implementation, and the annual development of staff to achieve top level Procurement performance. This position may require the successful candidate to travel to site when required.Responsibilities:Development of Project Specific procurement plans and strategies and ensure they fall within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with company policies and proceduresIn addition to project specific supervision, it is expected that the manager will also take hands on responsibility for the preparation of tasks required on the projectsEstablish and maintain close relations and communication with the customer to ensure procurement is being executed as the contract requires and customer expects, while protecting the company's interests. Maintain and manage theprocurement reporting to and from the customer.Participates in writing and review of all major proposals affecting procurement on the project. Provides procurement consultation to customer and Company management as needed.Lead and manage the procurement team to ensure delivery of procurement activities and ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures.Assign and manage workload of Project TeamSource and recommend suppliers in Canada and worldwide who can provide technical solutions and equipment requiredInitiate quotations for technical packages. Undertake the negotiation of purchase contracts, follow-up, schedule, ensure quality standards are met and expedite deliveriesPreparing and issuing purchase orders and other necessary procurement related reports and other necessary support requirementsReview and process claims against suppliers for unsatisfactory materials or equipment. Investigate trends in materials and supply prices, recommend the timing and quantity of purchases and establish economical purchase quantitiesBroad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and lead organizational change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other corporate individuals.The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive level management.Educate team in the actions required of a Supply Chain ProfessionalLiaise, and maintain strong working relationships, with engineering, planning, project controls, construction, and quality management to ensure procurement is aligned to the project requirements. Monitor and make changes as work progresses and report to the Project Manager and Senior Procurement Manager on progress and updates where required.Qualifications:Minimum 5+ Years of Management Experience, preferably in a Procurement Manager or Lead role in a construction environmentMinimum 10+ years supply chain / procurement experience in a, oil & gas or construction environment.Purchasing experience within EPC/EPF projects is requiredPrevious experience in a construction environment is an assetThorough knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel and WordDegree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or other applicable area is an asset.Able to communicate, understand, express, and apply basic technical, business, or administrative concepts.Mature negotiation skillsExcellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats.Worley strives to be an industry leader in health, safety and environmental performance.
