Recognized as a 2023 Best Employer in Canada, they are committed to fostering a workplace that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.The Position:The candidate will report directly to a Director, Property Management and will oversee and supervise vendors and contractors, whilst keeping tenants informed on various capital projects. The primary responsibilities of this role will be supervising a team of building operators, with oversight for tenant requests, contractors and preventative maintenance schedules across mechanical, electrical and plumbing.Leadership & Team ManagementOversee the performance of a large property portfolio.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Building Operators.Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.Ensure team members are cross-trained across multiple buildings.Oversee scheduling, workload distribution, and uniform compliance.Building Operations & MaintenanceConduct routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems.Ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are executed and documented.Audit maintenance logs and address any discrepancies.Work closely with Property Management to enforce service contracts and monitor vendor performance.Maintain high building standards through monthly property inspections.Tenant & Customer ServiceRespond to tenant service requests in a timely and professional manner.Conduct audits of service response times and implement improvements where necessary.Ensure smooth handover and preparation of vacant premises for new tenants.Health, Safety & ComplianceEnforce all health, safety, and security procedures.Ensure compliance with fire protection and emergency response protocols.Oversee seasonal maintenance requirements, including snow clearing and grounds keeping.Financial & Budgeting ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing building operating and capital budgets.Optimize procurement of supplies and services while maintaining cost efficiency.Sustainability & ComplianceSupport BOMA, LEED, WELL certifications as applicable.Implement sustainability best practices and energy management initiatives.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Building Operators.Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.Ensure team members are cross-trained across multiple buildings.Oversee scheduling, workload distribution, and uniform compliance.The Requirements:7+ years in building operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.3+ years of leadership experience in managing teams and budgets.Bachelors degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Certifications such as BES I & II, SMA/SMT, 4th Class Power Engineer, or equivalent are assets.Why should you apply?Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Work in an award-winning, inclusive, and forward-thinking organization.Opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of urban environments.Professional development and career growth opportunities.To apply:We thank all applicants for applying, but only qualified candidates will be contacted.
