This role requires a dynamic leader who will help guide and support the corporate development team in identifying, evaluating, and implementing projects that align with the companys strategic objectives. The Manager will play a pivotal role in managing project timelines, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring initiatives remain on track from conception to completion.This position is primarily project-based and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team members to ensure high-quality outcomes. Key areas of focus include mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; capital investments (including securing government funding); corporate strategy; investor relations; and market analysis.This role is based at Mercer Internationals head office in Vancouver, BC.ResponsibilitiesLead and Drive Projects: Help oversee key strategic initiatives, ensuring projects move forward efficiently and meet deadlines. Proactively address issues or obstacles, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure successful project outcomes.Other duties as assigned: Ad hoc analysis supporting the Vice President on various strategic initiatives and other duties as assigned.Qualifications and ExperienceA Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or similar, is required.Advanced designations such as a CFA, MBA, CBV, CA is a strong asset.Proven experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field, with a focus on strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions and financial analysis.Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor junior team members, including providing feedback and reviewing work to ensure accuracy and high standardsStrong experience managing complex, cross-functional projects from conception to completion, including setting timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring successful outcomes.Advanced financial modeling capabilities, with expertise in valuation modeling, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and data interpretation. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, and impactful presentations for senior management and stakeholders.High level of strategic thinking and understanding of corporate finance and market dynamics, with the ability to align initiatives to company objectives.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapt to changing circumstances, and resolve challenges proactively.Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work in a fast-paced environment.Salary & BenefitsThe salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 annually.
