The Role: Reporting to the Sr. Production Manager, the Production Supervisor - Night Shift will ensure the efficient use and overseeing of labour and product yield. Responsible for communicating any food safety problems to Management Team who will initiate appropriate corrective action. Responsibilities: Production - Daily and Technical Activities Ensure the sequences of productions are achieved based on lean manufacturing and therefore reducing extensive labour downtime, inefficiencies of equipment usage resulting in late deliveries to warehouse, Hold Team Leads accountable for ensuring proper running the lines and packing procedures are followed and that all production meets or exceeds Clients quality standards. At the same time, build trusting relationships and provide feedback to enable the successful development of your team, Foster innovation and continuous improvement with a focus on quality, facilitate the adoption of change and create a high-performance culture through alignment of your teams work with organizational goals, Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly departmental performance through effective KPI tracking and data collection for respective shift. Maintain close interaction with customers to develop strong relationships while assessing service requirements; communicate where appropriate. Production - Communication and Employee Management Schedule the labour requirements for the shift to ensure production goals are met within the budgeted cost structure. Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance appraisals. Handle all disciplinary situations appropriately and in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documentation. Complete shift briefings to ensure the effective communication of relevant information to all employees. Assign and follow up with Team leads, Operators and General workers on the length of time required for tasks to be completed by noting tasks assignments and communicating approximate time of completion. Daily approve all labour hours in adherence with company policies, maintaining accurate record keeping ensuring proper hours of employees for the shift are maintained as defined per Throughput file. Quality and Food safety - Technical Skills Monitor all aspects of processing activities to ensure compliance with the Companys Quality Management Program, HACCP program, regulatory and customer/buyers requirements. Ensure employees perform work in compliance with established standards. Reinforce that GMP, GHK, food safety, SQF, Food safety, Food Security, Work instructions and company policies and procedures are followed. Ensure Operational inspection is carried out to monitor floor procedure and processes are complying. Ensures product being produced is within specification, if any deviations are found they must be immediately reported to Q.A. Manager. Ensure all CCP are being met at the time of production. Collaborate with team members for Hold and Release of products on occurrence. Reject product that does not meet required specifications and follow procedures in relation to putting a product on ''HOLD. Identify out-of-tolerance and/or potentially hazardous situations, ensure corrective action is taken and properly documented. Perform data collection, data entry and accurately maintain records. Performs checks on the production recipe checks and packaging lines, label checks, net weight checks and package integrity checks. Other Duties Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Fulfill the duties of a supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act including safety, violence, and harassment laws. Assumes additional related responsibilities as required by Sr. Production Manager. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma or bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Minimum one year of directly related work experience. One year of supervisory experience. Experience working in the dairy manufacturing industry will be an asset. Knowledge of HACCP, WHIMS or other chemical safety training will be an asset.
