We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as the AVP- Casualty to help drive the companys growth specifically in commercial P&C. The successful candidate will be a seasoned industry veteran with the ability to develop strategy, and execute in a fast-paced environment, working well independently and as part of a collaborative team. Working in our Oakville office, this position is accountable for the new business growth, execution, oversight and daily operations of the casualty book including underwriting, expansion of DUA and administrative requirements. As AVP Casualty, at ICI, you will need excellent analytical and organizational skills to accomplish these tasks, often balancing multiple priorities. Responsibilities Strategic Planning Developing the annual casualty underwriting plan to meet annual ICI objectives and targets. Identifying broader market trends and seeking out new opportunities and projects that will help drive the organization forward towards its vision, goals, and objectives. Identifying, developing, and implementing additional insurance products, and relevant programs to enhance ICIs portfolio in the specialty vertical of sports, entertainment and live events. Collaborating with other senior team members to help support and realize the corporate vision. Underwriting Negotiating and obtaining the necessary capacity agreements, sourcing of market partners and expansion of delegated authority. Leading all casualty underwriting and risk management functions within ICI including risk analysis, pricing, proposal development, policy administration, invoicing, reporting (bordereaux, RIBO, other), profit commissions and claims. Focus on new business growth by cultivating and expanding relationships with brokers and other potential distribution partners, identifying new leads and opportunities. Working in conjunction with other leadership team members, brokers, and carriers to renew and expand underwriting facilities required to support corporate objectives. Seeking out new opportunities to support existing and emerging product lines, underwriting facilities, and risk sharing relationships. Fostering and developing strong client, underwriting and vendor relationships at all levels. Liase where necessary with broker clients to support, answer questions, recommend coverage options and provide general education to key decision makers. Mentor and train others where required to help expand knowledge base across various team members. Ensuring ICI meets all regulatory and licensing requirements in various operating jurisdictions and Underwriting requirements as it relates to our Coverholder status with Lloyds and other potential capacity partners. Operating as lead contact for all casualty underwriting facility audit requests and visits. Proven ability to lead self and influence in a team environment to achieving pre-determined objectives. Secondary Education in a related field, or equivalent Minimum of 10 years experience in Casualty insurance underwriting, professional designation and insight required to develop the annual underwriting plan to meet ICIs objectives and targets. Strong use of Microsoft suite of products, specifically Excel. A deep industry network to seek out new opportunities for ICI product lines, underwriting facilities, and risk sharing opportunities to move the organization toward its vision. The ability to effectively manage change, responding to client needs as they evolve while maintaining budget and timeline. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and work under pressure, using creative problem solving. Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude This is an in-office role at our Oakville, Ontario office.
