Job Description

Title: Site Inspector / Contract AdministratorPay Range: open market ratesProject Duration: 12 Months ContractPosition Overview:The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction site inspections, contract administration, and coordination between contractors, technical teams, and the City, ensuring that the project meets all specifications, schedules, and standards.Key Responsibilities:Site Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections on-site to ensure the quality and compliance of work against project specifications, with particular focus on structural bridge rehabilitation, retrofit waterproofing membranes, landscaping, hardscaping, soil cells, and architectural elements (e.g., glass balustrades).Contract Administration: Manage and monitor contracts, including tracking project progress, assessing contractor performance, and ensuring the fulfillment of contract terms.Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor and log daily site progress, ensuring that work is proceeding according to plan. Take detailed photos to document the progress and execution of work.Coordination with Contractors & City Officials: Liaise with the contractor and city representatives to schedule work around public events and coordinate necessary adjustments to timelines.Approve Progress Payments: Review and approve contractor progress payments based on site inspections and completed work.Collaboration with Technical Team: Coordinate with the technical team as required to resolve issues, implement changes, and ensure proper execution of the project.Key Requirements:Experience:Previous experience with structural bridge rehabilitation, retrofit waterproofing membranes, and other related infrastructure projects.Experience in landscaping, hardscaping, soil cells, and architectural elements (e.g., glass balustrades) is especially valuable during Phase 2 of the project.Training & Certifications:Working at Heights training certification.Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of construction processes and contract management.Ability to perform detailed site inspections and document progress accurately.Excellent communication skills for liaising with contractors, technical teams, and city officials.Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle tight schedules, particularly in coordination with public events and project timelines.Other Requirements:Ability to work full-time on-site, 5 days per week in Downtown Toronto.Flexibility to work weekends as required based on project needs.
