Job Description

Summary The Airline Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all day to day operations for their local Sky Cafe station. Job Responsibilities Promote and embody the company core values, ensuring all team members are committed Responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for all employees Participate in building a monthly forecast for all flight activities and base expenses Assist in managing corporate financial expectations to maximize profit to budget Responsible for all scheduling activities as it relates to Duty Managers, Leads, Transport and Warehouse departments Manage and review Daily Labour Percentage (DLP) /Revenue performance and adjust accordingly Manage and maintain carrier/company KPI expectations Lead regular employee/leadership engagement meetings Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personal protective equipment policies (safety toe shoes, uniform cleanliness, and jewelry) Adhere to all policies and follow established procedures Participate in required meetings, providing input and recommendations Conduct appropriate Operational/Safety briefings Conduct training and provide ongoing training support to all staff. Perform audits ensuring all employees are following Company policies and procedures Communicate regularly with your General Manager as it relates to the operation Accountable for meeting or exceeding all safety, financial, and operational objectives Assess and develop leadership to maximize potential (succession planning) Have a complete understanding of all contract details by carrier and base to ensure we are maximizing our revenue for each carrier handled. Identify high potentials (HIPOTS) for future growth and development within the company Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) Ensure GPET incident report (Safety Management System SMS) is generated and sent out within 3 hours of occurrence Ensure all required training is completed to company standard Delegate job duties as required and ensure completion Perform other duties as assigned Work Environment Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise May be required to work in a cold room of 4 degrees or less for extended periods of time Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis as per the physical demands analysis for the task at hand Regular standing, bending, and lifting during shift Must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more depending upon type of aircraft Able to perform job duties outside in all weather conditions Core Competencies Efficiently work as part of a team, as well as independently without direct supervision Effective verbal and written communication skills, with individuals at all levels of the organization Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times Excellent prioritizing, time management and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, G Mail, Google Drive Attention to detail in all areas of work Confident, consistent, decisive personality Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing work environment Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information Strong skills in conflict resolution Possess a strong safety focus Strong customer service mindset Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace Requirements 3 - 5 years of leadership experience Experience in airline catering would be an asset Possess a valid drivers license and maintain in good standing Ability to work on a permanent basis in Canada Obtain a clear criminal record Must obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances and maintain in good standing Must obtain necessary airport vehicle operators permit and maintain in good standing Must be able to operate all equipment as pertains to the position (forklifts, high lift trucks, catering vans) Ability to work within the required time parameters Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules Must successfully complete airline and corporate specific training programs and recertification
