About the Role: The Director of Business Development is a key leadership role at Safesidewalks Canada, responsible for driving the companys sales strategy, overseeing the sales team, and ensuring revenue growth across all regions. In addition to managing the sales division, the Director of Business Development will be a core member of the executive leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategic initiatives, decision-making, and long-term vision. This role requires a results-driven individual with a deep understanding of sales, business strategy, and leadership, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. The Director of Business Development will play a pivotal role in expanding Safesidewalks Canada''s market presence and advancing its mission of providing safe, accessible walkways to communities across the country. Accountabilities: Sales Strategy & Leadership: Developing and execute a national sales strategy and business opportunities that aligns with the companys objectives and growth targets.Leading, developing, coaching, and inspiring a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Identify new business opportunities and lead efforts to acquire new customers across diverse industries, including through market research and competitor analysis. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients and lead key accounts. Oversee the negotiation and closing of major contracts, ensuring competitive pricing and mutually beneficial terms. Setting and monitoring sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the national sales team. Executive Leadership: Serve as an integral member of the executive leadership team, collaborating closely with the other executive leaders to shape and execute Safesidewalks Canadas overall strategic direction; ensuring alignment between sales objectives and the companys broader goals. Contribute to high-level discussions and decision-making, providing insights and recommendations on company and sales related matters, while working cross-functionally with to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience across all service offerings. Finance & Business Oversight : Contribute and collaborate on shaping financial strategy, budgeting, and profitability to optimize cost structures and drive sustainable growth. Process Optimization & Technology Adoption : Implement scalable processes, leverage technology, and integrate innovative tools to enhance efficiency and productivity. Experience: A minimum of 6 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a service-based industry (construction, infrastructure, or public safety sectors are highly valued). Proven track record of successfully managing sales teams and driving revenue growth in a national or regional context. Experience serving on or working closely with an executive leadership team to set and achieve company-wide strategic objectives. Strong understanding of the sales lifecycle, from prospecting to closing and post-sales support. Strong understanding of financial strategy, budget development, financial forecasting, and profitability. Skills & Attributes: Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, with a focus on coaching and mentoring. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to collaborate and engage effectively at the executive level, contributing to company-wide strategy and decision-making. Analytical mindset with the ability to develop, assess and act on financial and sales performance data. Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and solve complex problems. Customer-focused, with a commitment to building long-term relationships and delivering value. Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Logistics: Full time position, beginning March2025 Salary: $90-$110k, potential for bonus, health benefits Hybrid workplace - Calgary or Vancouver.
