Magnet is helping our client, a privately owned Food & Beverage CPG Organization look for a Sales Strategy Manager to join their team and work on a brand new business initiative for the company. Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Strategy Manager is responsible for all aspects of commercialization of a specific product portfolio/brand across North America. This is a unique and challenging role for a experienced packaged goods professional with an opportunity to build and own a brand from start to finish. Were looking for an individual that understands how products/brands are commercialized and sold in the North American retail market. This individual will work closely with the General Manager to create and execute a short- and long-term strategy on the portfolio. Its not everyday where you get an opportunity to steer a snacking portfolio/brand, create the foundation for a long-term growth plan. The ideal individual has CPG experience from a Tier One company but has an entrepreneur pace at heart. This individual understands what gold standard is but has the judgement to follow the 80/20 rule to get results done quicker. The candidate should have proven sales experience calling on North American retailers, an analytical mind with flexibility to think on their feet, has the drive to win, and a strategic mindset. Project management or Sales Planning/Strategy experience is a plus. Even better if the individual has some brand marketing experience. Roles And Responsibilities Reports to General Manager and constantly maintain an open dialogue on deliverables Understand current portfolio, internal manufacturing capabilities and understand/recommend what is needed to change to fill white space for retailer (Participates and contributes to new development projects) Create short- and long-term strategy for both Private Label and Branded business. Includes route to market (channel) and pricing strategy. Create brand strategy and plan for long term growth Own budget Gain alignment and funding with stakeholders on 3rd party resources to support strategic plan Develop new business opportunities with existing and new customers Executes action plans to maintain core business and account development Create and maintain all account necessary related documents Prepares annual business plan: business strategy, account strategies, action plans to grow business objectives, forecasts Prepare and present periodic updates on business and strategy with key stakeholders (GM, Client) Builds relationships with customers at all levels Manages negotiations with customers regarding pricing, terms of sales and promotions. Partners with internal stake holders including Marketing, Finance, R&D and Operations to address customer needs. Manage sales forecast Coordinate presentations, meetings, plant trials, plant tours, and sensory evaluation requests. Listens and react with appropriate and proper judgement to customer requests Provides solutions to customers while maintaining company objectives. This includes a balance of category fundamentals and creativity when communicating, customizing presentations and analysis Investigates and reports on customer retail landscape, including competitive activity Maintains accurate and up-to-date customer files. Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures Required Skills Understands retail landscapes and processes within key retailers Have established, positive relationships with key stakeholders at retailers Proven ability to influence a range of different customers and personalities Analytical mindset with ability to simplify Excellent communication skills (written, verbal) Strong project management abilities Time-management skills, including understanding priorities Microsoft guru on excel and powerpoint Experience in entrepreneurial settings Organized and detail oriented. Strong team player and an ability to multitask.
