Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating commercial electrical projects, renewable energy systems, and battery energy storage installations. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in estimating software and industry standards. Responsibilities: Contact suppliers and follow up on tenders after submission has been completed. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial electrical projects, solar installations, and battery energy storage systems. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop competitive bids. Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project costs. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, local codes, and safety standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and labor rates. Assist in preparing bid proposals, RFPs, and other required documentation. Review and adjust estimates based on project changes and unforeseen conditions. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical estimator in the commercial electrical industry. Strong understanding of electrical systems, renewable energy, and battery storage solutions. Proficiency in estimating software (such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar). Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines. Knowledge of OESC (Ontario Electrical Safety Code), local electrical codes, and permitting processes. Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus. Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
