Career Opportunity in Emergency Medicine The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking Associates for Emergency Medicine. The Division of Emergency Medicine is looking to add additional Emergency Medicine Physicians. Our Physicians benefit from a well supported multidisciplinary team including collaborative, experienced emergency nursing teams, orthopaedic technicians, medical lab assistants, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physician navigators, Geriatric Emergency Medicine Nurses, and Crisis Workers. William Osler Health System is a vibrant community of ED clinicians with regular CME, POCUS expertise and support, and QI rounds. Responsibilities & Activities: Emergency department physicians at Osler are expected to provide a balance of day, weekend, night, and HOCC coverage with a minimum commitment of 8-10 shifts per month While a physician may focus their practice around one emergency department site, corporate and UCC coverage is an expectation Academic experience is an asset. Physicians are expected to maintain an academic appointment and instruct medical students and residents. Participation in Site and Corporate rounds Participation in Quality Improvement activities Participation in one hospital committee Qualifications Accredited Medical Degree (or equivalent) Certification in Emergency Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) or hold a fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. License to practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Training and certification in POCUS an asset Fellowships in Paediatrics, POCUS, or other specialty areas an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Sound critical thinking and problem solving skills Proven track record of attendance, punctuality, and accountability Models behaviour that aligns with Oslers Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Expertise in clinical teaching or clinical research preferred for those interested in education or research Osler is the primary academic teaching centre for Toronto Metropolitan Universitys medical learners.
