Depuis 2015, en troite collaboration avec le gouvernement du Qubec, l''''Universit McGill travaille la ralisation d''''un nouveau pavillon de 50 000m2 sur l''''ancien site de l''''HRV ( le projet New Vic ), suite la relocalisation du Centre universitaire de sant McGill (CUSM) sur le site Glen. Ce projet de redveloppement majeur, chelonn sur plusieurs annes, se veut structurant pour McGill, la rgion de Montral et l''''arrondissement historique et naturel du Mont-Royal. Le projet devrait tre complt d''''ici l''''automne 2028. Rsum du poste : Relevant du directeur de la planification et du dveloppement, vous serez responsable des projets lis la construction d''''installations universitaires et de recherche. Vous agissez titre de conseiller(re) dans la construction de laboratoires institutionnels ou de btiments ducatifs. Vous tes passionn(e) par la construction d''''installations universitaires/de recherche et apportez notre projet votre crativit et votre exprience dans la construction de laboratoires institutionnels et/ou de btiments ducatifs. Principales responsabilits : Supervision des travaux prparatoires (relogement des occupants existants, travaux de dcontamination, infrastructure M/E temporaire pour maintenir les btiments oprationnels) ; Superviser une quipe de professionnels externes du projet ayant une expertise en architecture, ingnierie, construction, services de soutien, gestion des installations et logistique, planification et achat d''''quipements, ainsi qu''''en planification et mise en uvre des technologies de l''''information. Dvelopper des services de soutien et de gestion des installations dans l''''ensemble du nouveau pavillon, ainsi que le dveloppement d''''un plan stratgique pour les systmes d''''information et le processus de planification et d''''acquisition des quipements. Grer et excuter plusieurs projets pendant les phases d''''excution et de livraison. Jouer un rle cl au sein de l''''quipe de projet en ce qui concerne les consultants professionnels et les entrepreneurs tiers. Fournir une expertise professionnelle pour aider les parties prenantes internes et externes dfinir leurs besoins et laborer des projets en consultation avec les parties prenantes et les autres composantes intresses de l''''universit. Assister le directeur de la planification et du dveloppement dans l''''atteinte des buts et objectifs, des chances du projet, tout au long des phases de construction du projet. Participer aux runions avec la Ville de Montral, y compris l''''arrondissement Ville-Marie, et d''''autres intervenants externes de premier plan tels que le ministre de l''''ducation, le ministre de la Culture et la Socit qubcoise des infrastructures. S''''assurer que les normes, les protocoles oprationnels et administratifs de McGill sont respects et appliqus par les consultants professionnels et les entrepreneurs. Contrler les performances des contractants afin de s''''assurer que les obligations contractuelles sont remplies de manire satisfaisante. Formation, exprience et comptences requises : Diplme de premier cycle dans une discipline d''''ingnierie de prfrence. Minimum de huit (8) ans d''''exprience dans le domaine, de prfrence. Exprience avre des grands projets de dveloppement institutionnel, de la planification au dveloppement, en passant par la mise en service, l''''tat de prparation oprationnelle et l''''emmnagement. Trs bien organis et capable d''''tablir des priorits et d''''effectuer plusieurs tches la fois dans un environnement ax sur les dlais. La connaissance des pratiques et procdures de l''''industrie de la construction est essentielle. Une certification professionnelle en tant qu''''ingnieur est souhaite. Certification PMP souhaitable. Le franais et l''''anglais, parls et crits, sont requis. ****************************** Located between McGill Universitys downtown campus and the Mount Royal, the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) opened its doors in 1893. Since 2015, in close collaboration with the Government of Quebec, McGill University has been working on a new pavilion of 50,000m2 on the former RVH site (the New Vic Project), following the relocation of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) to the Glen Site. Phased over several years, this major redevelopment project is intended to be structuring for McGill, Montreal area and the historic and natural borough of Mount Royal. The Project is anticipated to be completed by the fall of 2028. Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, Planning and Development the incumbent will be responsible for projects related to construction of academic/research facilities. Act as an advisor in the construction of institutional laboratory and or educational buildings. The ideal candidate will harbor a passion for the construction of academic/research facilities and bring his/her creativity and experience in the construction of institutional laboratories and/or educational buildings to our project. Primary Responsibilities: Oversight of preparatory work (relocation of existing occupants, decontamination work, temporary M/E infrastructure to maintain buildings operational); Supervise a team of external project professionals with expertise in architecture, engineering, construction, support services, FM and logistics, equipment planning and procurement, as well as in IT planning and implementation. Development of support services and facilities management services throughout the new pavilion, as well as the development of strategic plan for information systems and equipment planning and procurement process. Manage and execute multiple projects during the execution and delivery phases Act as key player on the project team with respect to third party professional consultants and contractors. Provide professional expertise to help the internal and external stakeholders define their needs and develop projects in consultation with the stakeholders and other interested University constituencies. Assist the Director of Planning and Development in achieving goals and objectives, project deadlines, throughout the construction phases of the project. Participate in meetings with the City of Montreal including the borough of Ville-Marie and other prime external stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, and the Socit Qubcoise des infrastructures. Assure that McGill standards, operational and administrative protocols are respected and applied by both professional consultants and contractors. Monitor the performance of contractors to ensure that contractual obligations are met satisfactorily. Execute projects using established standard project management methodology, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring projects through the entire systems development lifecycle. Experience, Education and Other Qualifying Skills required: Undergraduate Degree in an engineering discipline preferred Minimum of eight (8) years related experience preferred Demonstrated experience in major institutional development projects, from planning to development through to commissioning, operational readiness and move in Highly organized with an ability to prioritize and multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment Knowledge of construction industry practices and procedures is essential Professional certification as an engineer is preferred PMP certification desirable Good knowledge of current technology and building codes as it relates to institutional construction and renovation with experience in laboratory design or/and educational institution Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC building systems (plumbing, heating, electrical and ventilation infrastructure) a must French, spoken & written is required
