Our client in the healthcare industry is seeking a Moodle System Administrator to support the development and delivery of e-learning programs for clinicians and healthcare partners. This role is primarily focused on the back-end administration, technical support, and optimization of the Moodle platform. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operation, security, and performance of the learning management system while collaborating with internal teams and IT support as needed. Position Details: Location: Hybrid (2 days on-site per week, including mandatory Tuesdays) Pay Rate: $36.88 - 49.75/hour Benefits: HOOPP Defined Benefit pension plan Work type: Permanent Schedule: Full-time 7.5h/day Responsibilities: Administer and manage the Moodle platform, including installation, upgrades, patches, and user management Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot performance and security issues, and collaborate with IT teams as needed Develop and modify custom Moodle plugins and themes to enhance functionality Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG standards) and optimize system performance Manage and configure custom reports using the Ad-hoc database queries Moodle plugin Assist with migrating courses from Moodle to a new LMS (Docebo), while maintaining existing Moodle infrastructure Create training materials and tutorials for internal users to facilitate system adoption Maintain system backups, disaster recovery processes, and security best practices Work closely with subject matter experts and content creators to ensure course implementation and monitoring Requirements: Bachelor''''s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Moodle System Administrator, managing both production and sandbox environments Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and MySQL/MariaDB for database administration Experience with Moodle development, including plugin and theme customization Knowledge of Git version control, Linux/Windows server environments, and cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure) Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience ensuring compliance Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Experience integrating Moodle with other tools and platforms Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
