Role Description: Arch Corporation is seeking an intermediate level Construction Project Manager to join an in-house development team responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing multiple new large-scale development projects across Southern Ontario. Reporting to Vice President, Construction, the role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering construction projects within approved financial and operational targets. The role will initially act as a client-representative project manager overseeing multiple construction projects procured and constructed by retained General Contractors and/or external Construction Managers. In time, Construction Management may be internalized within the firm, at which time the role will pivot to provide in-house Construction Management services. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and supervise all aspects of construction projects from start to finish. Implement proper project governance, monitoring and control processes / procedures. Develop project schedules, set project deadlines, and allocate resources effectively. Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within budget and on schedule, ensuring quality expectations are met. Negotiate, administer, monitor, and control agreements and contracts with suppliers, contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants. Oversee the procurement of materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment as required. Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders and management. Coordinate with Consultants and Authorities Having Jurisdiction as required. Ensure all construction activities are carried out in compliance with approved agreements, permits, and relevant codes and regulations that may apply. Resolve construction issues, conflicts, disputes, and discrepancies in a timely manner. Manage and motivate a team of construction professionals to achieve project goals. What You Offer: A track record of successfully delivering medium to large scale construction projects within financial and operational constraints/targets. Demonstrated experience in formulating and achieving project goals and objectives. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices combined with a thorough knowledge of project management principles and practices. Robust and developed knowledge of construction methods, principles, practices and processes, contract administration and inspection, construction contract law, as well as pertinent Acts and Regulations (i.e. Construction Lien Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.) Sound judgement; highly developed management, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; negotiation and mediation skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work with multi-discipline teams to resolve and manage complex project issues and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to act as a resource to provide consultation, direction, advice and guidance regarding construction site management issues and/or complex construction problems/issues in a timely and accurate manner. Mediate and negotiate with stakeholders to successfully resolve complex construction claims. Ensure the prompt development of strategies to address unresolved claims. High level of integrity and accountability; a heightened sense of urgency and determination to see projects through to completion and do what is necessary to achieve success. Education, Experience & Qualifications : 5 to 10+ years of relevant on-site experience working on new build ICI and/or high-rise residential construction projects; experience working on health-care institutional projects is considered an asset. Post-secondary education in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, and/or Red Seal Tradesman with significant experience as a Site Supervisor or Construction Manager; experience in construction cost estimation considered an asset. Additional Requirements: A valid Province of Ontario Class G drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to travel to construction sites on a regular and frequent basis (~60% travel requirement). May be required to work or respond to issues outside of normal operating hours.
